What this means

If you declare a buyer registered, FBR needs the number to verify that claim. The field is only optional in the unregistered case — and declaring registered without a number is contradictory.

Why it happens

• The customer was marked registered without an NTN on file.
• The registration number lives in a separate field that was never mapped into the payload.
• A blank was submitted for a walk-in customer marked registered by default.

How to fix it

1. 1Require the registration number whenever a customer is set to registered.
2. 2Default new customers to unregistered until verified, rather than the reverse.
