What this means

FBR looked up the registration number and found a taxpayer whose details do not reconcile with what you submitted. Usually a transcription error rather than a systemic problem.

Why it happens

• A digit was transposed, matching a different valid registration.
• The business name on file differs from the registered name — trading names and registered names often diverge.
• A branch identifier was appended to the registration number.

How to fix it
