0105·Calculated sales tax for the quantity is incorrect
Tax calculationOccasional
What this means
Some sale types carry a rate expressed per unit of quantity — a fixed number of rupees per kilogram, for instance — rather than a percentage of value. FBR multiplies quantity by that per-unit rate and compares it to your tax figure.
Why it happens
- The rate was treated as a percentage when it is a specific per-unit amount.
- Quantity was submitted in a different unit than the rate assumes — rate per kilogram against quantity in tonnes, for example.
- A compound rate such as a percentage combined with a per-unit charge was applied only in part.
- Quantity was rounded to fewer decimal places than the rate calculation requires.
How to fix it
- 1Read the rate description carefully — a rate string naming a currency amount per unit is a specific rate, not an ad valorem one.
- 2Confirm the unit of measurement matches the unit the rate is denominated in.
- 3For compound rates, apply both components and sum them.
- 4Submit quantity at up to four decimal places, which is the precision FBR accepts for that field.
How Ordyoo handles this
Specific and compound rates are outside the standard distribution scenarios most Ordyoo tenants use. Where a tenant's catalogue includes them, the rate description is cached from FBR's reference data so the per-unit component is visible at the point of classification rather than guessed at submission time.
